How do the Chinese celebrate a national birthday?
Blow stuff up of course. On the first of October, the People's Republic of China turned 62, and Hong Kong celebrated with a giant fireworks display in Victoria Harbour. The display is one of Hong Kong's two big ones each year (the other being Chinese New Year), and was really quite spectacular. In terms of creativity, I've probably seen better displays, but in terms of size, sound and length, I've never seen anything like it. Most of my photos are pretty awful, so I shall post a video instead. My camera didn't really pick up just how loud everything was, but you get the idea.
